Patient Care Technician (PCT) Job Description
The role of a Certified Hemodialysis Technician is critical to the success of our Dialysis Center by ensuring that they are providing excellent patient care with compassion and kindness at all times. As a Technician, you are responsible for greeting our patients and their families when they arrive for treatment, making every effort to provide a comfortable environment throughout the process of their treatment. The Technician is responsible for monitoring and providing patient care under the supervision of our staff nurses. We have five positions available at different locations; Santa Barbara and Lompoc. These are 12 hour shifts 3 days per week. Responsibilities: Will know or be willing to learn how to work with a Hemodialysis machine, automatic blood pressure component, water treatment equipment. Learn how to operate a conductivity meter, bicarbonate mixer, electronic scales for patient weight, sphygmomanometer, electronic thermometer, blood glucose meter, oxygen tank and suction equipment and wheelchairs. Qualifications: High School Graduate or equivalent and experience working as a Hemodialysis Technician, Patient Care Technician, CNA or other related experience in the medical field. Must be Energetic and have a positive attitude. Enjoy working in a healthcare setting and helping people. Be Kind, confidential and compassionate.
