Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
Job Summary: Implements the plans, development and direction of the day to day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines and regulations which govern our facility and as may be directed by the Administrator, the Medical Director and the Director of Nursing. Qualifications • Nursing Degree from an accredited school • Current license to practice profession in the state of S.C. • Previous long-term care experience preferred • Must be independent in decision making when circumstances warrant, with the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies. • Must possess leadership and supervisory skills along with the willingness to handle difficult situations. • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations. • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines as they pertain to long term care. • Must possess the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality care. • Must be in good physical and mental health. • Must have the ability to lift 60-70 pounds, bend, twist, stoop and squat at numerous times during the shift. • Must have the ability to perform duties involved with lifting and turning residents.
