Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
General Functions: 1. Provides and/or oversees all health care services in collaboration with other health and social services professionals at Ruggles Assisted Living. 2. Responsible for the hiring, orienting and ongoing supervision of Personal Care Homemaker staff. 3. Oversees the implementation of EOEA Assisted Living Regulations. 4. Ensures assessment, enrollment, and maintenance of requirements of the GAFC program for all residents. 5. Provides training and education to staff at Ruggles Assisted Living. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Ensures facility compliance with EOEA Assisted Living Regulations: Educates and prepares the organization on assisted living regulations. Ensures staff compliance with regulations. Coordinates with the program manager in managing the EOEA certification process. 2. Personnel/Supervisory Hires, orients and trains all Personal Care Homemakers or Home Health Aide staff at Ruggles Assisted Living. Conducts regular direct supervision of Personal Care Homemaking staff, including completion of performance evaluations. Ensures appropriate coverage of health care staff at facility. Coordinates with HR if more Personal Care Homemaking staff is indicated. 3. Health Care Services Supervises or formulates regular health service plans for all residents and oversees implementation of all health care services. Ensure the correct maintenance of confidential resident records. Provide and/or supervise care using clinically sound judgement and practicing within the scope of the nurse practice act and other applicable state or federal laws and/or regulations. Collaborate with both internal and external health care, social service and/or community resources to ensure quality health care services for residents. 4. GAFC Program Participate in resident selection ensuring resident clinical and financial ability to receive GAFC services, as well as willingness to accept services. Complete or supervise completion of assessment, service plans and other clinical processes to ensure compliance with GAFC program regulations. Ensure completion of documentation to facilitate GAFC billing process. Participate in GAFC audits as needed. 5. Case Management Participate as member of interdisciplinary team in formulating care plans for each resident. Collaborates and communicates with external providers of services to residents, i.e., physicians, VNA’s, other community services. 6. Education Provide and/or arrange for education and in-service for Personal Care Homemaker staff. Provide and/or arrange for education for staff at Ruggles Assisted Living. Education, Experience and Licensure: Registered Nurse with a degree from a School of Nursing accredited by the National League of Nursing (B.S. preferred). Minimum of three (2) years clinical experience. Experience working with PACE, GAFC, Dementia, Elders, Persons with Disabilities and/or Community Health Services preferred. Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience preferred. Must have and maintain nursing license in good standing. Must have and maintain CPR certification.
