Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description

Position Summary: Manages and directs resident care within the nursing department in-order to maintain resident standards of care and ensure that each resident functions at his/her highest level. Essential Functions: Because HCF exists to care for our residents, regular attendance and punctuality are essential to provide quality care Leadership: Ability to take action and achieve results through others Commitment to HCF mission, values and philosophy and Service Excellence Initiative Must be able to complete performance requirements independently while using good judgment as well as have the ability to harmoniously work with others Must be able to read, write and understand the English language Position Responsibilities: Must follow HCF Policies and Procedures Must meet job related competencies as outlined in the Skills Competency Manual Coordinates resident care through departmental and appropriate staff committee meetings Ensures that staffing is adequate to meet State and Federal requirements Guides nursing department in adherence to all state and federal regulations Evaluates and disciplines nursing personnel according to HCF policy Supervises the maintenance of nursing and medical treatments and related services executed by nursing personnel Participates in the QA process Ensures availability of nursing supplies and equipment Assumes responsibility for maintaining his/her own professional competence Verifies that the nursing personnel have valid and current licenses as required by the State in which they work Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing. Current license as a Registered Nurse with the State Board of Nursing. CPR certification recommended.
