Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
We are looking for a qualified nursing supervisor to join our team and oversee our residents, train our existing nursing staff as well as our new hires, and manage the nursing team of our facility. Our ideal candidate has solid experience as a registered nurse and is able to handle stressful situations. This position also requires team management skills and a problem-solving attitude. The Nurse Supervisor responsibilities include (but are not limited to): setting the standard of care in the healthcare facility, managing department budgets and providing support for nurses as needed. Further training in management or administration would be a bonus. Ultimately, you will work with the nurses in your department to ensure they are trained as needed and supervise new hires throughout your shift. You should also ensure smooth nursing operations at our facility through day-to-day management and long term planning. Responsibilities: Scheduling nurses’ shifts Assigning nurses to patients Ensuring nursing operational standards are met Provide reports on productivity, quality and customer service metrics Evaluate nurses’ performance and ensure all nurses follow policies and procedures Train new team members Inform family members about medical procedures and doctors’ instructions Handle complaints or other issues Establish a compassionate environment by providing psychological support to patients, family and friends Keep records of nurses’ files, patients’ cases and procedures Requirements & Skills: Proven work experience as a nursing supervisor or equivalent Thorough knowledge of legal regulations, best practices in healthcare and policies and procedures Team management skills Great written and verbal communication and people skills Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Valid & current Registered Nurse License CPR Certified
