As a Registered Nurse, YOU are the MVP of our organization by providing nursing services and first aid to employees or individuals we support who become ill or injured; assess situation and implement emergency protocol as outlined in policies and procedures, perform various routing nursing functions including ensuring that all changes in medical status are updated; contact Physician as necessary, particularly if problems develop and much more. What you’ll do: Perform simple diagnostic tests as necessary (i.e. accu-checks, vital signs, etc.) Submit all orders to the member’s individual Primary Care Physician every 90 days for physician review and signature. Provide triage for member’s health status changes, which require a higher level of care. Provide guidance and instruction to non-licensed direct care staff regarding the health and safety of the individuals. Attend all scheduled staff meetings and trainings. Complete Monthly, Quarterly and Annual nursing assessments Ensure Physician orders are accurate and completed by non-license staff Communicate as needed with all Contractors as it relates to medical (example PCP: Primary Care Physician and, Behaviorist) As needed, any medical requests from Guardian are handled by the RN Work with dietician on any physicians as it relates to any dietary needs Check medications monthly for refill orders and ensure all refill orders have been submitted to contract Pharmacy. Check MARS weekly Review Medical consults weekly and sign off Handle Physician orders Once a week check-ins at our Day Programs Communicate with Day Program and ensure Physician orders are current. Check Cycle Meds each month -if any corrections are needed, contact pharmacy Review and sign off on incident reports (If applicable) Nursing notes are required for initial and follow up appointments Work closely with Pharmacy to handle all medication needs Responsible for Medication trainings (as needed) Attend doctors’ appointments (as needed) Attend internal Committee meetings monthly and Quarterly Monthly internal audits conducted RN, meets with Supervisor RN weekly, to review nursing notes Requirements What you need: Must be at least 18 years of age Pass criminal record and healthcare registry check Pass driving record check if providing transportation Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in NC and one to two year’s of pediatric nursing experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience Commitment to achieve competency in required knowledge, skills, and abilities Note: Current First Aid/CPR blended or classroom certification is required.
