Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
Job Summary: The Service Supervisor is an individual who is approved by the Board of Directors at the recommendation of the Agency Director to organize and direct the Agency's client service programs. He/She functions under the direction of the Agency Director. Organizational Relationship: Reports directly to the Agency Director. Risk of Occupational Exposure to Blood-Borne Pathogens: C: No Exposure Qualifications: Be a Registered Nurse with an active license in the state of North Carolina A minimum of 1-year experience in home care, companion, sitter or respite services, or any other provider licensed pursuant. Must have a criminal background check. Responsibilities: • Oversees the hands-on services management of the Agency. • Supervises & Oversees the implementation and evaluation of client services. • Service Supervisor will supervise all hands-on caregivers. • Conducts Supervisory visits for hands-on services • Conducts the Initial Assessment • Develops Plan of Care • Performs Client assessment • Verifies in-home caregivers’ competencies • Assist the Agency Director in planning the overall development and administration of the Agency as set forth in the policies and procedures relating to the agency’s programs. • Participates in the development of administrative policies and procedures relating to the Agency. • Directs implementation of approved work methods and procedures that reflect elements essential to rendering high quality care throughout the provider offices. • Participates in the review, analysis, and appraisal of the effectiveness of the total Agency program. • Utilizes the data reports to quantify Agency’s service performance • Recommends to the Agency Director methodology to change outcomes and improve scores. • Aggregates the client record review summaries as part of the QA Program. • Participates & assures that established QA committees maintain the goal of meetings. • Assists the Agency Director in collecting data for inclusion in the Annual Agency Evaluation and formulating the Annual report. • Recognizes leadership potential and offers opportunities for leadership training and development. • Manages the client service departmental budget. • Receives and acts to resolve complaints subject to the agency’s grievance procedure in the capacity of “next higher-level authority”. • Apprises Agency Director of potential legal risks. • Participates in the employee termination process assuring that full and complete documentation exists prior to executing disciplinary actions including written warnings through termination. • Ensures implementation of Agency continuing education/in-service program. • Projects a concerned, professional attitude and develops a positive rapport with all staff. • Establish mutual goal setting and achievement of standards. • Develops an open, positive rapport with community resources affiliated with Home Care services. • Maintain high visibility and availability while in the office. • Participates in the Agency QA Committee • Participates in state/national organizations, meetings, seminars, and workshops as appropriate to agency services. • Perform other duties as assigned. Functional Abilities: Must be able to read 12 point or larger type. Must be able to hear, speak and effectively communicate in English.
