FutureCare Homewood is the Cleanest Facility of the 3 that my 94 year old mother has used. Mom Raves about the good food and friendly Professionals who took care of her in Homewood. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by some of the friendliest front desk people who make you feel welcome. As you make your way through the Facilities you notice that Homewood was Cleaner then The Hospital. Everyone was hard at work , from the Nurses to the Custodians. Bottom line ,the Facility was in Pristine condition. The Employees were Highly Professional and when I left I was able to Sleep knowing that Mom Was in good hands. It will always be our First choice in the Future.
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the unprofessional treatment my niece received while attending the CNA program at this facility. What she experienced was both unfair and discouraging for any student trying to further their education and career in healthcare. On Monday afternoon, my niece was sent home over a misunderstanding involving food that a classmate was putting away. She was never given the chance to explain her side of the situation, nor did anyone take the time to investigate what truly happened. The decision appeared to be made based solely on one person’s account, without due consideration or fairness. Despite this, my niece returned to class on Wednesday with a positive attitude, determined to catch up on the skills she had missed and continue learning. However, to our surprise, she was dismissed from the program once again — this time without any clear explanation. The staff claimed she was being disrespectful and not following rules, yet no one had spoken with her directly or given her an opportunity to respond. She was told she would receive a follow-up call, but that call never came. This entire situation reflects a serious lack of communication, professionalism, and fairness within the facility. Students deserve to be treated with respect and to have their voices heard before such important decisions are made about their education and future careers. Given this experience, I cannot in good faith recommend this facility or its CNA program to anyone. It is deeply concerning that an organization entrusted with training future healthcare professionals would handle matters in such an unprofessional and dismissive way. The consistently low ratings and ongoing complaints appear to reflect these same issues. I sincerely hope this feedback encourages the facility’s leadership to review how student concerns and disciplinary actions are handled moving forward. Every student deserves fair treatment, proper communication, and a learning environment built on respect and integrity.
This facility is like many others unfortunately when it comes to long term care. The people lack compassion for the residents and are rude. The rehab portion of the facility is great. All the therapist are amazing and genuinely have a love and respect for the patients but the GNA's and some nurses are just so awful that a 1 is all I can give. I had to complain countless times about them not answering the call bells, changing my mother regularly, and the temperature in the room. I often had to advocate for her roommate as well who fell out the bed on three occasions that I know of. The weekend is by far the twilight zone. Mostly agency staff who have no idea of what to do. There is a lack of communication amongst the teams and so many things get missed over the weekend. Patients are rarely changed and bathed properly. The nurse manager Art will lie to your face about everything. He does not take the time to investigate issues fully before speaking on it. Horrible place. They need customer service and sensitivity training to start. The list is just too long on what else is needed to bring this place up to par. Please go somewhere else if you value your life and your peace.
My husband was in the vent unit. He was left there neglected and uncared for. While the nursing staff were all on their phones and Art, the nursing supervisor locked himself away in his office. No one knows any answers to anything. My husband passed away on Saturday, it’s been 72 hours and the funeral home still does not have his death certificate. No seems to know what happens to it. I am also trying to get his personal belongings and can’t get a response from the social worker about that.
