The secret of any stay in a rehabilitation facility is you get out of it what you put into it. If you work at it, you get better. If you don’t you don’t. The key to a great rehab facility is providing the support, care and encouragement to allow you to make that choice. The best thing about Meadow Park is its staff. I arrived there knowing my Parkinson’s Disease had progressed and I was resisting necessary changes. I was not a happy camper. From the beginning the staff was patient and supportive. They gave me space to come to terms with these changes and support when i needed it. Physical therapists Kathy and Nijay, speech therapist Jennifer and occupational therapists Jehan and Monica are fantastic. They got me moving with a lot of humor. Nurses Harinda, Chino, Hawa and Mohammad and aides Tiffany, Amy and Tishelle took great care of me and I looked forward when they arrived on shift. Administrators Lorenzo and Anna May are great about helping you understand your stay and help your transition back to the world. There are few negative issues to report. Like most rehabilitation facilities, Meadow Park struggles with the staffing issues plaguing American health care. Nurses and aides are stretched thin among patients. However, staff works hard to ensure everyone receives proper attention and care. Some of the equipment need serious upgrades, like the beds. The mattresses are absolute murder, however if you ask, staff will try and accommodate you. The only semi-serious complaint I have is about the food. It is traditionally bad hospital fare. The coffee is godawful and, and though I have asked for hot water for tea every day since I arrived I have yet to get a cup. Though we are asked about food choices and put in our requests somehow I have yet to get the right thing. Communicate is difficult and sometimes getting an issue to the right person is an issue. Your rehabilitation time is what you make of it. You or your support network must be involved in your recovery. Meadow Park is a wonderful, supportive place whose staff will work with you on your recovery. I just received my discharge date and I will be headed home to the next stage of my life rested and stronger than I’ve been in a while.
I visit my beloved cousin here about once or twice a year. She has been here for over 8 years. When I come the staff is always surprise because no one visits her at all. But I must say whenever I pop in I am always impressed. She is always clean and well taken care of. The staff knows who she is and can speak about her as a human being and not just some lady in a bed. The facility is always clean and there is so much movement. I love it and it warms my heart to know she is somewhere like this.
My family’s experience at Meadow Park was heartbreaking. My mother was admitted to this facility for rehabilitation, but within days her condition declined dramatically, a decline that I now believe stemmed from negligence and a lack of proper medical oversight. Throughout her stay, signs of serious distress were repeatedly ignored or downplayed. Communication with the medical team was minimal, and we were often reassured that “she’s fine,” even as her health visibly worsened. What was supposed to be a supportive environment for recovery became a place where my mother was treated like a chart number rather than a person in need of care. There was an alarming lack of coordination among staff, and vital information was often missed or mishandled. Protocols that could have prevented her hospitalization were either overlooked or poorly followed. The facility felt understaffed and disorganized, with caregivers stretched too thin to provide consistent attention or notice early warning signs. It’s also worth noting that facilities like this often send out automated review requests for brief visits or routine check-ins, which can artificially inflate their online ratings. Before making any decisions, I urge families to look beyond Google stars, review the official state inspection reports and care quality metrics, which paint a far more accurate picture of how these facilities actually operate. No family should have to go through what ours did. If you’re considering Meadow Park for your loved one, ask direct questions about staffing levels, physician accessibility, and emergency procedures. Don’t rely solely on appearances or online ratings, dig deeper. We trusted their assurances, and we’re still living with the consequences
For the most part, this facility is more like a 4.5 star mark. I have met people who go the extra mile to help, even when it's not part of their job. but a few staff need to dole out a little more kindness and respect to patients and family. The place stays clea; staff at all levels gel well. great to see that kind of camaraderie.
David, the Activities Director has an amazing gift. He has helped my father in so many ways. I actually saw my father sing for the first time in my life and I attribute that to David. He actually gets people from their rooms and makes everyone feel special. Thank you David.
