SUCH an amazing place!!! The Activities Team is truly remarkable. They provide high quality events and really make residents and community members feel seen. Laura and her team are amazing. The Villages of Lake Highlands is such a warm and cozy space with hardworking staff. Love love them!
Laura and the activities team were absolutely incredible. You can tell they really care for their residents in the way that they always show up for them, they are always thinking of how they can make the residents' experience better and what they can do for the residents to make them happy, comfortable and feel at home. The activities and they plan for them are so thoughtful and considerate for the residents and go out of their way to give them an excellent experience!!
I am so happy that I choose The Villages of Lake highlands for my family member. The staff is great, their operation smooth, very trustworthy people. I would recommend this facility for any family member looking for a nursing home or A Assisted Living for their loved ones. You will experience great, caring, and hardworking staff.
My mother was transferred here from Baylor and I warn everyone to check on this facility before allowing them to care for your loved ones! No one called me to let me know my mother was there, she’s been there 10 days now and still no updates or no calls. There is no one when you arrive, you just walk in and can do whatever you want to do! No security no locked doors, they didn’t even check me in. A majority of the staff was rude! Patients were just sitting in the hallway unattended, VERY SAD!! While the website looks all nice, it’s nasty inside and they didn’t have any hot water so my mom was taking cold wash offs! They then boiled water to bathe her and guess what, it was too hot! Also the building was so hot! I couldn’t understand why it’s like the AC didn’t work and this is Texas! It’s very unprofessional! No one was working just on their phones, with the exception of one nurse who told me she works 16 hour shifts!!!! That has to be illegal. I’m sure a lot of people make it in here but they don’t come out! Be careful with places like this, it’s government funded and they don’t take care of the elderly. It’s nothing like the website!!! I feel sorry for the elderly people here!!!!!
Came here last Saturday and turned out they were having a Nutcracker Tea Party! From my observation, the attendees (which includes residents and public) were soo immersed. I think having this kind of activities will be beneficial, for both residents and any organizations they’re partnering with. Such an emotional day❤️
