Visited my Dad today after having been placed a few months ago. Every single one of the staff was pleasant, friendly and so caring. It’s extremely difficult to see your loved one (Alzheimer’s) in a place that’s not their home but I left knowing he is happy, and well taken care of. When emotions got the best of me and I could no longer hide the tears in my eyes, two separate staff members touched my arm in the most amazing “ I know it’s hard and we got him” kind of way. It was this simple gesture, that although this disease is unimaginable, a terrible blow to my mother and our family, I know he’s cared for. Thank you to all the nurses & staff for what you do!
Wonderful well organized Veteran Day event. I really enjoyed myself. Thanks to all the Veterans who served
The Richard A. Anderson Texas State Veterans Home recently became my dad’s permanent residence. The staff has been nothing less than extraordinary. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and care has made my family very happy. It was a hard decision to move dad out of his home due to the concern for his care. They have gone above and beyond. My dad, a Vietnam veteran deserves the best care as he has served his nation with honor. I am a Navy veteran that is proud of the work this staff does on a daily basis to care for our nation’s heroes. Bravo Zulu!
This was the first time I visited the facility, and I'm not sure which impressed me the most--the quality of care that my friend is receiving or the friendliness as a staff or the overall appearance of the facility. I work with senior citizens and I have seen so many places that I wouldn't put a stray cat at and then to walk into this facility. I realized it is the top of the top, which is something our Veterans certainly deserve.
I’ve visited a number of skilled nursing facilities. This facility was exceptional- friendly staff throughout the facility (seriously everyone I met), very well organized resident activities, and incredibly clean. The residents were happy and well cared for. Personally I really appreciated the morning announcement and prayer made daily by a local resident. Hearing the gratitude for the day, made me reflect on what I have to be grateful for.
