Very poor help there. A CNA forced my amputated leg into a too small sleeve causing me to be in Rehabs for almost 2 years. They sent me to a Senior Mental Hospital so they could do an "Involuntary Removal" of me over money issues. I just got a call from a Social worker there last week stating they found some of my mail in their basement. It is a Federal offense to delay someone's mail. I will report it today. Administration also put a very disruptive patient in the shared room with me. Someone who had been kicked out of other facilities repeatedly. I had to put myself to bed by lowering my bed and crawling into it more than once. I called the LaGrange Police for neglect more than once. They were very nice. When my items were packed and forwarded to me, items were missing. They did not allow me to return to pack my own items. At the Geriatric Mental Hospital, there was a constant pressure to have you add Psychotropic drugs to help you "sleep". I did not need or take. There you have to participate in the things they do 3x a day. If you are not taking any of the drugs or misbehaving, they have to release you after 10 days. I got a threatening call from the Admin at Meadowbrook stating that I could return but she could send me to some place even worse in 30 days. I ended up at a dumpster fire rehab called the Waterford in Chicago. Lied to about that place from the Manager there. So ..
My mother was a resident there and she was very well taken care of. Her favorite nurse was Mihela she was very compassionate and gave my mom excellent care. When I went to visit on a daily basis she was clean and looked great considering her circumstances.
We were so happy with how everyone treated our mom. It made us so comfortable and her rehab was great. I would not hesitate to place my mom at Meadowbrook again. I’m very grateful for everything they have done for my mom. All the staff was wonderful and very helpful.
The staff of Meadowbrook Manor of Lagrange did an exceptional job taking care of my father. The nursing staff was fantastic, nurse Mary Shayne was helpful during transition to home very detail oriented. I’m very much happy how my dad was taken care of. I would not choose any other facility. Thank you!
Meadowbrook Manor is a facility that does short term rehab and long term residents. From what I have seen with my own eyes is that people who can walk and are there for short term rehab will do fine but long term residents don't do even ok. The third floor is always short staffed and therefore the employees are overworked. The residents don't have phones in their rooms like thr temporary people on the 1st and 2nd floors. If the resident doesn't have a cell phone, forget about talking to them on the phone because the excuses are endless as to why you can't talk to them and you are lucky enough to hear those excuses ONLY f the nurses dein to stoop so low as to answer the phone. Don't bother to call the administrators to complain (or for any othef reason) as they don't answer their phones or bother to return a call if you leave a message. The facility boasts about the quality of the care they give and how they are family owned. Check out their business registration with the state and the ratings from IDPH amd Medicare. Don't believe the marlarky Meadowbrook talks.
