SABAL PALMS HEALTH & REHABILITATION

My husband needed a rehab after being hospitalized with pneumonia. He’s also in the early stages of dementia. At first, he went to a different one that was a hell hole. He was never showered shaved or dressed.It broke my heart, and I quickly got him out of there and brought him home. Unfortunately, he relapsed and had to go back to the hospital. This time they sent him to Sabal Palms for rehab and the difference is night and day. They take such good care of him. They call me anytime he needs anything or his medication‘s change. He has regular physical and occupational therapy. When I can’t reach him by phone, I can call his nurse and they will go into his room and call me from his phone so I’ll be able to talk to him. If there’s something on TV that I know he would like to see, I call the nurse and they will change the channel so he doesn’t miss it. Everyone looks like they’re happy to be working there. The place is immaculate. They shower and shave him three times a week. They make sure he is dressed every day. I've been a RN for 18 years and have worked in numerous skilled nursing facilities (including my current position) and can honestly say I am grateful every day that my mom is at Sabal Palms. I have always thought I would never want my mom in a rehab facilty. Then she broke her hip and wrist and we had no choice. Since she has been at Sabal Palms she has been well cared for, treated with kindness and respect. No place can be PERFECT because you will always encounter people who are negative or angry. But at Sabal Palms, when my mom experienced that, and we spoke up, the admistrative team handled it immediately. My mom loves her CNAs and her nurses. She has even developed a wonderful relationship with her roommate. My mom has not been able to rehabilitate enough to go home, but she continiously assures me shes okay there and she appreciates all the care she receives. This does not happen by accident. It requires hard and diligent work by the administrative and management team and commitment to a vision of having an amazing facility. Thank you to all the caring people at Sabal Palms for taking such good care of my loving mom.

I visit my 97 year old friend on the 2nd floor regularly but to different times since I am very busy. The lady at the Check-in desk is always friendly with a big smile. The hallway down to the elevator is spic n span. If I get to the 2nd floor right after a meal I have to be cautious ⚠️ because there may be crumbs or "lost food" in the hallway or dining area. Sometimes even on the floor in my friends room which could be dangerous to the residents or myself .. as a visitor! I always feel safe to leave my friend when Aaron is there, he is very kind and considerate with the patients. My friend feels relaxed when his shift starts because he is always gentle when she needs his assistance. Kudos to Aaron, you need more people like him with a big heart ❤️ Charlie is very flexibly, she lends a hand all over the place, you would think she just runs around doing this and that on the way but she is full with energy and shares it with the patients/residents. She keeps an eye on everything. I am very impressed with the modern "bathroom" equipment which helps the staff and makes the residents more confident and secure. Keep the staff healthy and safe so they can take care of all the people who need help at Sabal Palms

This is the fourth rehab center my mother has needed to visit over the years and DEFINITELY the best. Very well run and clean. Professional and caring staff from the front desk, to nursing to therapists. Highly recommend.

I recently completed the PCA program, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! The curriculum is well-structured, covering everything I needed to know to excel in my career. What truly made this program stand out for me was the instructor, Ms Jo. Her passion for teaching and her deep knowledge of the subject matter were evident in every lesson. She not only explained concepts clearly but also took the time to address everyone's questions and provided personalized support. Her encouragement and real-world examples made learning engaging and enjoyable. Thanks to Ms Jo and this program, I feel well-prepared and confident as I move forward in my career. I highly recommend this PCA program to anyone looking to gain the skills needed for success in this field! I can now say, I am a Certified Nursing Assistant.
