We have lived in our apartment in Independent Living here at Lakeview Village for two years and love this community. Meals, housekeeping are taken care of, and health care is readily available if we would need it, but we have the freedom to travel, visit with good friends here, and enjoy our retirement without the worries of maintaining a property. Holidays here are special when our family comes to visit and stay in the comfortable guest quarters near our apartment. We can share meals and visit without my having to go to all the extra work of entertaining. Most importantly, we've given our kids the gift of not having to worry about us, and they can enjoy their own lives too.
Throughout mom’s entire stay at Lakeview Village, they did not consult with me (medical and financial POA) prior to making their decisions and determinations with one exception. Lakeview Village administration had the Social Worker send me a text the Friday before mom moved over to an assisted living facility demanding full payment before mom checked out – no invoice – just a text saying the final amount needed to be paid now, on a Friday before mom was to check out the following Monday. During her stay I asked three times for a direct doctor consult which never happened and also asked three times for an appointment with administration which never happened. The Social Worker was over her head and of very little help. An absolutely awful experience all the way around - and the bills keep coming months later after you have paid in full. Avoid Lakeview Village and take your loved ones elsewhere.
My parent is a resident since 2021. This retirement village is truly first class in every facet of care & assistance for their residents. The rehabilitation in the East Side and throughout the care center is marvelously response to give family reassurance of a great peace of mind & immediately respond to residents needs.
Lakeview Village Child Development Center review TLDR: if you or anyone you know is looking into Lakeview village daycare or is currently on the waiting list there, please read! I was about 8 weeks pregnant in early July of 2023 with my first. Right after the ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy my husband and I went to Lakeview Village Daycare to tour and that same visit we verbally committed to send our son there when I was due back for work (end of April 2024). The daycare director, and I quote, said “early May will be no problem because we are so far out”. Fast forward and our son was born February 2, 2024. We emailed the daycare on 2/8/2024 letting them know he was born and my return to work date was at the end of April. They emailed back and let us know his start date was pushed to end of July. That’s it, just an email, no call or any explanation of the delay. I ended up having to resign from my job because we could not find a daycare we trusted our son with in such a short amount of time. Long story short we reached out a few more times wondering if his spot would ever open up and they said, July, then October, then February 2025. My husband and I are incredibly understanding that securing an exact start date is really tough if not impossible. But going from May 2024 to an alleged February 2025 start date is outrageous. All of this happening with not a single apology from the director of the center. She even called my son by the wrong name in an email. Not one call to explain the situation or offer any sort of apology, only emails after we reached out to them and asked about our status. My husband and I often questioned whether or not this was some sort of joke. We live in the neighborhood around the center and had heard nothing but awesome things about the daycare so we were super excited to be able to get our son in. They are an employee owned center so they take care of their staff members kids first. Sharing this story because there are families still on this list waiting to get in and I encourage you to communicate with the center asap or find alternative care. Happy to share more details or talk to anyone with further questions!
My mom had a femur break that required surgery and PT. Her in patient PT took place at Lakeview Village and it couldn’t have been a more positive experience. The level of care she received was fantastic and the accommodations were exactly what she needed and more. The staff went above and beyond at every turn to take incredible care of my mom, make sure she had everything she needed while she was there, and that she was set up for success as she transitioned home. And watching how much kindness and care they gave to other patients during meal times was so heartwarming! An absolute 5 star experience!
