I just spent six weeks at Sharon Care Center. I was sent there from Cedars Sinai. I spent a total of five weeks at Cedars Sinai prior to my stay at Sharon Care Center. The doctors from Cedars supervised my stay while at Sharon. They were able to work in concert with the medical staff at Sharon. So my medical care was seamlessly transferred between the facilities. The nurses and doctors who attended me were knowledgeable and had great bedside manners. The people at Sharon Care Center treated me with a great deal of care and respect. I’m a paraplegic and they left me wanting for nothing. All of my needs were met by kind and generous spirits. The food was decent, sometimes I’d even say it was good. I’m not going to say that institutional food is gourmet. There were no meals I would turn away prepared by the cooks and chefs who work at Sharon. The cleaning crew never stopped. One of the Cleaning Crew happened to be deaf. Even she went out of her way to make sure that I was comfortable and taken care of. She was often there when I opened my eyes in the morning, giving me a big smile. The CNA‘s went to lengths that I will never forget in an effort to make me and the other patients I witnessed feel comfortable and respected. I can’t leave out management. Management were very attentive. They often visited me in my room to discuss my care and to check on how I was getting along. I’ve heard some pretty harrowing stories about the treatment of patients in these sort of institutions. I feel really lucky to have landed at Sharon Care Center. Thank you, Cedars Sinai for the recommendation. There is a woman named Sandra who works as a CNA at Sharon Care Center. Sandra really went out of our way to make me feel cared for. Moreover, Sandra never failed to encourage me when I was struggling.
The nurses were very good to my mom but the administration has a big turnover and they were lousy in business. I bought my mom 2 brand new gowns and a Rams blanket that cost me 80 bucks and someone either stole it or they couldn't find it I filled out 3 reports to get reimbursed and called several times with no returned calls even spoke to the director several times and still no return calls. And never paid for missing items.
At first I was skeptical about this place. However Cedars recommended them and Jacob from Sharon Care really gave me the reassurance I need for my grandmas needs. He was with us every step of the way and made sure my grandma was taken care of.
I had the misfortune of Being locked up at Sharon Rehabilitation last year after I did not rebound from a surgery as expected. The experience was truly awful. The staff is disinterested at best, and then they move into the overly disrespectful and completely non-caring attitudes at a precipitous drop. While, I was very unhappy there, at least I had my mental capacity so I could fight for what I needed. I saw other patients ignored and abused. This was especially prevalent during the nighttime hours. And if anybody died, the nursing staff might not know it for days. My bed was never changed unless I did it myself. I was never given a clean gown. The staff will allow one shower per week on their schedule if they let you take one at all. The food was abysmal; inedible. I took to ordering in from Uber Eats after a few days there. My meds, when they were delivered at all, were not given to me in a timely manner and more often than not were incomplete. My pain meds were completely mismanaged. I should also add that I was sent an entire packet of medication’s - a months supplY - from CEDARS SINAI When I was moved to Sharon. I was there less than a week but . 3/4 of my medication was missing when I Was discharged. Who stole my medication, Sharon? This facility did nothing to help me, and in fact I believe was harmful To my overall well-being. I ended up calling my husband., A lawyer, who got me sprung against their Advice. I was truly better off At home, all by myself with no assistance, than I was at the Sharon Rehabilitation Center.
My uncle receives great care at Sharon Care during his stay. The staff is so friendly and welcoming to my family everytime we visit. His physical therapy sessions has him progressing phenomenally. I am grateful for the work that they do there. Thanks to the care of everyone there, my uncle will be home soon. I can say this place is highly recommended.
