If I could give 0 stars, I would. My mother in law was at this facility in September after being in Ruby for almost a month following a stroke in her brain stem that left her in a locked-in state. She couldn’t talk or move anything, just blink. She was only at the Arbors for about 10 days before having to be sent to the hospital for a severe bed sore. It was not present when she arrived at the Arbors. It was 3inches deep and went to her bone. She ended up developing a bone infection from this as well that never cleared up. One time we were visiting, a few minutes within us showing up we asked for the nurse or CNA to reposition her because her head was falling to the side and she was close to the edge of the bed. It also had smelled like she used the bathroom. Three of them came and said “oh we were just about to check her”. It took them almost 40 minutes to clean her because she had been laying in her “mess” for God knows how long. The smell took your breath away. Following the doctor’s recommendations of not sending her back due to her bed sore being so severe and clearly from neglect, we moved her. She cried every single day she was there. This whole facility smells of urine, and just has a very negative energy about it from the moment you walk in. The staff we had encountered were also not personable at all, and always seemed to be on a smoke break any time we had called to check on her. I would absolutely never recommend anyone to send their loved one here if they are not able to speak and advocate for themselves. My mother in law has since passed away from complications that continued to pile up, including infection that never cleared. This review is as cordial as I can put it. I just want to save someone else’s loved one from what she went through.
My husband was there for rehabilitation after a broken hip. The first night he was there the aide was rough when helping him to bed, when i told her he had a broken him she responded with " I didn't know, nobody told me anything about him." During the first 7 days he did not receive a bed bath nor were his clothes changed. His dietary restrictions (renal diet) was not being followed. Nursing staff was not using PPE properly when doing dressing changes (touching doors with gloves on, taking gloves off before dressing change was complete). We had a meeting with the director of nursing, unit manager, kitchen manager, and social worker. I was assured he would be getting personal care in the morning and evening, even though I was helping him with his bed bath. The kitchen manager told us that most people don't like to follow the renal diet so it was not offered, but they would make him a menu that followed his dietary needs from that point forward. We were assured that they would do unscheduled reviews of nursing staff and aides to make sure PPE protocols were being followed. My husband is a type one diabetic and should have been having daily skin checks. This was not done and as a result he now has a large wound on his leg that he had to have surgery to debride dead tissue and will require multiple trips to the wound center for treatment. I was reluctant to send my husband here, but due to insurance Arbors was one of very few options in Washington county and the only in Marietta.
Leslie and Holly. They are the best and are a rockstar they helped me since the first day of getting my mom into the nursing home. They are always there when you need help and ask questions. If they don’t know the answer they will get it for you.
Some of the aid staff is good and the nurses are good too and the therapist are nice but when it comes to the social worker she lies and acks like you don't know how to do anything and the financial office tells you what they think you want to hear and the building is old and noisy and hountied
My first visit to The Arbors went very well. I came into help a client. All employees that help my client were very kind and attentive. They did their particular job very professionally.
