I recently had a stay here in July to August for broken ankle. Now am not elderly nor sick but if I was this is not the place to stay. The rehabilitation center was excellent very professional and caring group of people. The 4 stars or for themThe lady over the group friendly and wonderful. My nurses and CNA were great but the food well i uber eats most days.Whomever in that kitchen don't care or they not giving them much to work with. The rooms Ok I think they are under staff here. They need to update procedures on contacting staff when you need them it took at less 15 minutes to get help First comes CNA who finds out your problem and has to go tell the nurse which is another 5 minutes. bad if you really need help you better forget it. This was my first rehabilitation and hopefully last. Next time I will do way more research for a center. Careful on your medication know what you take they tried to give me pills I know I didn't need i came in taking 10 pills due to asthmatic and diabetes they tried to add 10 more pills that I refused to take which they didn't like. Over all if you can deal with bad food, understaffed and long wait but want Excellent rehabilitation it a good place to go and yes be in your right mind and aware of what's happening.
I would not recommend Belterra to anyone who cares to put their loved one in a healthy environment as they recover. Medications come hours late, meals are left bedside for extended periods of time after completion (ie, they'll take away your dirty plates when they deliver your next meal). Patients who need assistance with hygienic care are left without assistance for extended periods of time. The nursing staff is dishonest, uncaring & unequipped to do their jobs well. But at least they can say the building looks nice from the outside.
This facility is worse than a dog pound. Dogs at least get their kennels hosed down daily, fresh food and fresh water. I was told by the staff that the average response time is 40 minutes when you push the nurse Bell at one time I waited one hour 47 minutes sitting in my feces for someone to come change my pull up, I am attaching a picture of their portable toilet the bathroom. Look at all the rust on it. It’s disgusting. The staff there does not treat anyone with dignity or respect. Skilled nursing homes have a bad reputation already, but this one is pathetic. How they pass health inspection is beyond me, except that the criteria for skilled nursing homes is not the same as hospitals they get monitored and have inspections. If you’re thinking of placing a loved one there think twice!
Someone I care about needs help from Belterra. So far she has been treated very well. There’s four of us there visiting a lot of times. She were really sick before the needed surgery and we saw the staff stay on top of medication & attention. Yes the food is awful, breakfast is ok, but hard to mess up breakfast. I do wish Belterra would get another company, a good tasting food supplier. Overall the place is clean and all the staff have been very attentive. Than you Belterra for taking care of a loved one.
Belterra is a beautiful building inside and out. The staff is a caring bunch and the rehab team is one of the best in the area.
