My mom experienced a terrible fall and came to Mountainside Skilled Nursing Rehab. I cannot name every staff member, but I am so grateful for the incredible compassion, kindness, and professionalism shown to my mom as she worked toward recovery. We were treated with such care and medical expertise, all focused on helping my mom return home in a reasonable time. Our family feels immense gratitude to everyone at the facility for helping her heal and regain her independence. Thank you for all that you do for your patients and their families.

We moved Mom here hoping she'd get the care she deserved in her final days, but what we got was neglect and distress. The worst moment came when they moved her to a private room. My mom, who was actively dying, couldn't be off oxygen for more than a few seconds. When I arrived, they were wheeling her to her new room--WITHOUT oxygen. She was gasping for air and in a panic, crying. I begged them to hurry, but the aide pushing her wheelchair moved at a snail's pace while my mom was terrified. I even grabbed the wheelchair to try to push it faster, but she wasn't responding. I yelled, "Someone please help!" but the staff just stood in the hallway, gawking. While the mistake was eventually acknowledged, my mom felt totally unsafe--and she was. She died the next day. I deeply regret trusting Mountainside with her care. I notice that negative reviews of this facility are answered with this response: "This review includes strongly worded and unverified statements that do not fully reflect the day-to-day commitment of our care team." While it may the case that your care team is committed, I now have to live with the memory of my mother crying and panicking for the rest of my life. I cannot recommend this facility to anyone. Please be cautious and consider other options if your loved one needs serious care.

For the past 11 years, unfortunately my only nephew was diagnosed as a vegetative quadriplegic. He had a serious brain bleed stroke leaving him in that condition. For 11 years we have been in almost every hospitals and nursing rehab from NY Presbyterian, Princeton and many many others. At the same time, we experienced many rehab nursing facilities which we can rate from bad to the best. Mountainside Nursing and Rehab I must rate as 1 of the very best from the Medical director Doctor Robert Lukenda, nurses, aides, activities, clerical and anyone who crosses the threshold to work at Mountainside Nursing and Rehab. I hesitate to mention a small group of people who have shown exemplary attention to their position. Some are Kornelia, Gladys, Archelle, Mia, Esther, Ann, Rebecca and Adaeze. (if I have unintentionally forgotten someone, I sincerely apologize) We love you all, for the love and care you have shown to our Anthony Sarica. Thank You, the Sarica Family

Manor Care did a wonderful job in making my dad comfortable and happy during his entire stay and especially during his final months, weeks and days. Everyone from Jessica, the manager ,to all the staff that came in contact with my dad treated him gently, and with dignity and respect. We were secure in the knowledge that he would always be safe and well taken care of. Dad frequently commented that he felt surrounded by great people. My sister and I are so grateful to each person on the staff. They were never too busy to share a kind word and smile with him.
