I originally chose Aspire Oldsmar for my husband’s care because it had good reviews and was close to our home. That made it easier for me to visit, since he had been in St. Pete and I work in Bradenton, which made weekday visits nearly impossible while I was working long hours. After the hurricanes, communication from Aspire Oldsmar completely failed. I was told my husband would be safe where he was, but without any notice they moved him to Port St. Lucie. I only found out because he had his cell phone and called me. Staff never informed me, even though I tried calling numerous times. What happened there was unacceptable. My husband has had a stroke, is paralyzed on one side, and cannot sit or stand on his own. He called me crying, saying he was left on the floor. Staff even put a plate of food on his chest instead of properly helping him. It was heartbreaking and terrifying to hear him so distressed. Eventually, he was transferred to Aspire Clearwater Sand Key , and thankfully, the staff there have been amazing. I am grateful for the care he is receiving now. But Aspire Oldsmar has not provided any updates about reopening, and families deserve communication. Please someone give us some kind of information.
After being uprooted by the hurricane and moved to a different felicity, no one can tell me if/when I can get my personal property back. *No one has answers. I've been lied to and Ignored. No one knows who or where I can get the numbers or names to talk to. The Director at this felicity is useless, good thing his supporting staff DOES their job
So-So, changes management a lot. No attentive doctors; but, frequent visits from ARNPs and PAs who vary in quality and bedside msnners, but bill you regularly.
There is no way this place has 4 stars. Even 1 is being generous. Looks clean however it smells awful and the room my brother was in had holes in the walls with some cheap panel covering it that was too small. The nurses at night that I encountered were awful. First they didn't speak English well so that was a nightmare trying to communicate. My brother's call light was on for an hour before we had to go find someone to get his medicine and even then it was like everyone was clueless. They didn't even know WHERE he was when we first got there. Clueless that someone new had been brought in the day before. When he left... they didn't even know he had left. Called us at midnight looking for him for meds. Then there was one nurse standing outside my brother's room ranting and raving that someone else had 14 patients and she had 23 and how unfair that was and how she wasn't going in the next day. I hope she didn't but my brother constantly complained about arguments happening right outside his door while he was trying to sleep. We went once during the day and the nurses were still clueless. Also, speaking Spanish with other employees when dealing with a patient or resident is completely rude. Someone needs to handle that issue.
I agree with the previous review. The new owners care more about the bottom line than the residents and staff. The quality of care, quality of food, and quality and amount supplies have declined significatnly since the facility was taken over by aspire. The bldg is run down. The residents who live there deserve so much more.
