I decided to check out Golden Hill Post Acute after the remodel, as it was quite the hype in the community. I can say I'm glad I did! Was a site to see! Very bright, spacious & welcoming. The modern touches really makes the place come to life. I sensed the renewed energy. Everyone wants to feel "at home" & I think Golden Hill executed that while considering the population they serve. - Cheers
This building just reopened June 20th 2025 after getting a major renovation. It is an absolutely beautiful building, best in San Diego! The administrator of this facility and the staff have been phenomenal. Highly recommend this facility for your loved one!
Golden Hills Post Acute Care is a great place for your loved one. The staff is warm, patient, and always willing to help. The building feels welcoming, and the team works hard to make sure patients feel comfortable and supported. The facility just got remodeled and looks beautiful. If your family is looking for a skilled nursing facility, Golden Hills is a place to rehabilitate.
Very long call response times. 37 minutes to get help to get to bathroom. Fallen halfway out of bed and a long undetermined amount of time before help arrived. Limited communication. For someone who is severely depleted and needs nutrition to heal, the breakfast photo says it all. Also was supposed to be provided a low air loss mattress to help protect a major wound. 1 week later and still no mattress.
My dad got admitted at 7:30pm and after 2 hours somebody finally came in to ask some information but he seemed in a hurry since as he said ‘his lunch was due’ so just left us the papers and left. My dad was supposed to receive IV antibiotics twice a day, after staying 24hrs there, he didn’t receive NOTHING no pain medication no blanket no antibiotics. According to the staff, doctor goes once a week but made an exception to go an visit my dad, she was there 20 minutes, told us it was against medical advice if we took him out of there and left. There was ONE RN and about 7 CNAs in the whole building, no MD. Also, after staying about half an hour we saw how an elderly man fell and nobody even noticed, we personally helped him get up and after a couple minutes some CNA asked if he was ok. Next day his family visited and nobody mentioned the little fall he had. We ended up taking him since the blankets were all dirty and his colostomy bag had been soaked since they didn’t emptied it. Found a cockroach the ONLY time I went into the restroom. I don’t know if the bar is super low or this place it’s not it.
