"USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Went in for a relatively simple procedure but in post op I wasn't waking up well. They gave narcan several times and proceeded to give my mom discharge instructions. when my mom became scared I wasn't responding, anesthesia said I was fine and transferred me to a wheel chair to go to the bathroom. they wanted me out as I was the last patient of the day and all the staff had left (very unsafe). My mom was insistent that my face was drooping and left arm wasn't moving. meanwhile, they are again trying to discharge me. Finally my mom refused to take me home and demanded EMS because she knows what a stroke is and felt I was having one. finally EMS was called and I did indeed stroke massively at 38years old and completely healthy prior. Relearned to walk and spent 8 weeks at Shepherd. lost work for 6 months (I'm a healthcare provider). looking at the records, all this is charted except that anesthesia claims it was him who noted the symptoms and called EMS. I also seem to have had high BP throughout surgery which I don't normally. who knows if that's why I stroked but I do have serious concerns about staffing, their ability to notice an acute problem and the desire to rush people out. no one ever called to explain the surgery so that seemed odd. on top of that they sent me to collections for a $900+ bill prior to even issuing an initial bill (one I didn't owe since I pre paid). that being said, I will have any surgery in the future in a hospital and will stay far far away from this facility and outpatient centers in general."
