"Buyer beware. This is one of the most unethical practices Ive ever seen and Ive seen a lot in the medical community. If you decide to get surgery here, understand that when they tell you that your insurance covers a procedure, or your "pre certified" that means NOTHING. Understand that when they say your "surgery" is covered, know that your "surgery" doesn't include the anesthesia required for that surgery. Understand that they may use a anesthesiologist that isn't a preferred or covered provider. We received a 1000 additional bill for a uncovered service from a non preferred provider-*that the surgery center selected* without our input for a procedure for our son. A 1000 expense is not a insignificant cost. Esp given the Ins. we pay to ensure we dont have these kinds of bills. When you tell a family a procedure is covered but dont let them know the anesthesiologist isnt a provider for your insurance until after the fact, it causes extreme hardships on some families. Esp those who work in the military community and have to maintain good credit ratings as parts of position requirements. So you go in to the facility for the procedure, they tell you its covered and how much your portion will be. THEY select the anesthesiologist thats going to be used, and you arent aware that they aren't preferred providers, not in your network, or even covered until AFTER the procedure. You dont get to chose a covered provider before the procedure. All something a simple phone call notifying the patient they are using a anesthesiologist that isnt covered would have solved. "
