I cannot say enough good things about this community. When my aunt needed memory care, it was a difficult decision where to place her. With the help of our senior care coordinator, we found Morning Star at Bear Creek. The level of care my aunt received was top notch. The staff that cared for my aunt were loving and supportive. The facility itself is beautiful with its high ceilings, warm cozy furnishings, and gorgeous views of Pikes Peek. The security within the building leaves family knowing that their loved one is protected. Sadly, my aunt passed away. I know she was well cared for and thought of fondly by staff. I have no regrets that placing her in this home was the best decision for her.
My mom reached the point where she needed much more care than independent living would allow. I contacted Morningstar at Bear Creek and they responded immediately. They did an assessment, showed us apartments (multiple times), and guided us through the paperwork to move her. They also accepted our current hospice provider and accommodated them into their systems. Move-in day went smooth and the staff offered assistance at every turn. The staff provided my mom with great care and worked with the hospice staff as a seamless unit. We could not have asked for a more caring facility and staff. Thank you
I've been remiss in writing this review. The level of care that my father received was world-class. We had moved him from another city to a memory care unit that was commensurate with his needs. While we were there, I was impressed with the level of care and communication we received. The price, service, and care surpassed our expectations. The staff loved my dad and were close to him to the end.
I am deeply devastated by the loss of our loved one while under the care of Morning Star at Bear Creek. What was supposed to be a place of safety, compassion, and specialized care turned into a heartbreaking experience marked by neglect and mismanagement. Medications were missed, lost or mishandled, and despite our repeated concerns, nothing was done. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and leadership was unresponsive—even dismissive—when we raised alarms. This wasn’t a simple oversight; it was a pattern of carelessness and denial that ultimately cost a life. No family should have to endure this kind of pain. We trusted Morning Star during one of the most vulnerable times in our loved one’s life, and they failed us in the most devastating way. If you're considering this facility, please look deeper. Ask hard questions. Do not trust them. Don't assume your loved one will be safe just because the brochures or tours look promising. Nothing can bring our loved one back, but I hope this review prevents another family from going through the same nightmare. ***Response to businesses response*** This review was written regarding the lack of accountability and professionalism exhibited during my loved one’s time in your care. Despite repeated communication, your staff consistently referred to my GRANDMOTHER as my mother, indicating a clear failure to truly get to know the residents and their families on a personal level. Serious issues with management had to be escalated to corporate due to dishonesty and a lack of transparency. It became evident that some staff were not comfortable with involved family members and often attempted to withhold or obscure information. This is unacceptable and deeply concerning for any family entrusting the care of a loved one to your facility. Additionally, I became aware of inappropriate personal relationships within the management team, further compromising the integrity of the care environment. Conversations that should have remained confidential were not treated as such, raising serious concerns about privacy and professionalism. Medication administration was another ongoing issue. Errors were frequent and persistent enough that I was forced to request monthly medication records to independently track and identify the source of the problems—something that should have been handled internally and with precision. Overall, my experience has shown a consistent pattern of mismanagement, lack of transparency, and disregard for both resident well-being and family involvement. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to address the systemic issues within your organization!
My mom has fallen and her face has been all bruised up from not being tended to. She has been in 2 pairs of pants and her depends and all wet, when I get there and needs help. Now the workers are leaving the doors unlocked at night and this isn’t protocol. This is just more disasters waiting for more accidents to happen. People need to understand you are taking care of someone’s family member. You might want to think of it as your own.
