Brookdale Hagerstown

My mom has been at Brookdale for almost nine years, she is now 97 y/o and I accredit Brookdale impart for her long life. I believe because she lives there she is living her best life. She has access to many things she would not have had with home care. Things like socialization, activities, a high level of care and her over all well being are addressed at Brookdale Hagerstown daily. I try to be sure to let the staff know how grateful my family and I are.

A little over a year ago, when we could no longer care for Mom at home, we were searching for a safe and affordable place for her to live. She has dementia. It is a heartbreaking disease and that search was heartbreaking for her daughters. But, we found Brookdale. As the oldest daughter, I visited first. I was immediately put at ease observing , staff that knew residents by name, who were friendly, seemed to be enjoying their work and were very professional. I was welcomed to speak with any and all of the staff who would take part in Mom's care if she came to live there. I even got to speak with the woman who runs the hair salon! Everyone was very knowledgable, thorough and patient in answering my questions. After that visit, I decided to be put on the waiting list. Once called with an opening, we said, "yes!" We have not regretted our decision for a moment. Mom loves it there, she is well cared for, staff go "above and beyond" to communicate and share special moments with us. When we visit, we are always greeted and known. We are so grateful for all of the caregivers and staff at Brookdale.

Brookdale was an easy choice when we needed assisted living for my Dad. He was close to his family and neighbors. And, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming!He is well cared for when we can’t be there.

I want to recognize the staff at Brookdale for their amazing work and dedication to their residents! Skylar has been amazing throughout the entire admission process and made the transition for my father to assisted-living smooth! She really took a load off us and the stress we were feeling! Pete, the executive Director, was extremely friendly and explained everything well. They were willing to do several work arounds for things we wanted Instead of just saying no, they figured out a solution. Eric, who is their maintenance guy, has been extremely accommodating and helpful as we set dad’s room up! All the staff are super friendly and personable…from the housekeepers to the nursing staff to the receptionist (who got up to hold doors as we moved in) to the kitchen staff and all the behind the scenes people! The facility is extremely clean and appears to be well run with lots of teamwork! I am looking forward to them taking care of my dad!

In October, 2024 my 96 year old mother-in-law had the unfortunate experience of falling and fracturing her hip. Following surgery and rehab, our family was faced with reality of securing a more permanent living arrangement for her. We did an exhaustive review of available options and agreed upon Brookdale Hagerstown Assisted Living. From the welcome of the staff upon admission to the present day, we are pleased to report that Brookdale Hagerstown was the perfect solution. Not only is the facility wonderfully appointed and exceptionally clean and the meals appealing and nutritious in a beautiful dining room with linen table cloths and servers in tuxedo apparel; but the staff are far and above attentive, kind and genuinely caring. The direct care staff is truly outstanding. Like any long term care arrangement, there have been occasional minor bumps in the road with regard to her care. It is not and never will be perfect. Our family recognizes this however as a fact of modern day health care, but at the same time want to commend and compliment both the management and staff for their overwhelming response to addressing these issues. They are approachable and committed to both the resident and family to doing the best that they can to make her stay as positive as can be. They not only want but also seek out feedback on a regular basis. Very unusual in this day and age as it is much more than just a job to them. We definitely made the right choice for our loved one and would highly recommend Brookdale Hagerstown to anyone else in similar need.
