From the very beginning, Shirley, the general manager, stood out as incredibly caring, attentive, and truly dedicated to making sure my aunt’s needs were fully met. She took the time to understand not just the medical and practical requirements, but also my aunt’s personality and preferences, which made a big difference. The caregivers that Shirley selected were professional, respectful, and consistently kind. They provided not just physical support, but emotional comfort as well, helping my aunt feel safe, respected, and at ease in her own home. Communication was always clear, and I appreciated how responsive the team was to any questions or changes. Before my mom was released from hospital after a hip surgery, I connected with Shirley Wu, General Manager, to set up the care team for my mom. Shirley is caring, resourceful and attentive. She follows up constantly to see if there is any change in mom's needs. My mom's very happy with her caregiver, Celest. Celest is happy and easy going and look beyond mom's need. We have been using Home Instead for years now and as our parents needs have changed our amazing caregivers have adapted accordingly. Diane currently does the shopping, light cleaning and some cooking and is wonderful company doing puzzles etc. Chizuru does some cooking and light cleaning and is also wonderful company for our parents. They coordinate their time off so they cover each other whenever possible. Our parents (and their children) appreciate the loving care they give to our parents everyday. Shirley (our support manager) is always available to help when we have new and changing needs. We highly recommend Home Instead Union City, CA!

We started using Home Instead (in Union City) for my mom about 4 months ago and it was a great decision. My mom has aphasia and does not speak well. All of her caregivers have been kind and compassionate, and treat her with respect. They are very patient and make a real effort to understand what my mom is trying to say. Before we started using Home Instead, we were worried that caregivers would take advantage of my mom’s difficulty communicating. That is no longer a concern. All the caregivers have been very honest and trustworthy. Here is one example – the day after Christmas, a caregiver texted me to let me know that my mom handed her $40 (I assume as a Christmas gift). The caregiver did not take the money and told my mom to never give money to caregivers. Plus the office staff responds quickly any time I have a question or a request. I worry less and sleep better knowing that the wonderful caregivers from Home Instead are there to help out.

I had the pleasure of working with Shannon and experiencing the services of Home Instead for our seniors. Shannon's work ethic is next to none and operates her business at a very high standard. She is very proactive in anticipating the needs of her clients and have always worked very closely and in partnership with the families.
