Oasis Haven Hospice
Oasis Haven Hospice
Oasis Haven Hospice is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Orange, California and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.
Medicare covers hospice services with no cost to patients for most services, including medications for symptom control, medical equipment, and 24-hour access to care. For more information about hospice benefits, visit Medicare.gov. Compare hospice providers at Medicare Care Compare.

Reviews
Short version: Based on the shaky intake process alone, I would not recommend them. Added confusion and stress to an already difficult process. Long version: The board and care my mom was living in recommended we have Oasis Haven evaluate her for possible admission to hospice. They were prompt to call me and discuss the process. Good start. But then the office admin then struggled to send me the right documents that I would need to fill out for my mom. She sent me one copy with typographic errors. After much back and forth, I eventually received a 30-40 page PDF that needed to be printed and filled out by hand, and many of the pages were just reference materials that were not even relevant to the registration process. I couldn't believe there was not a set, clear process with electronic signature available. Handling the impending death of a loved one is not made easier by filling out your family member's name six times on a bunch of bureaucratic paperwork. I started to fill the papers out but stopped and waited to hear how my mom's evaluation turned out so I wouldn't be wasting an hour filling out the pile of paperwork. She was not deemed ready for hospice. A few weeks later she was re-evaluated by a different hospice and admitted. That hospice sent me a simple packet for review and electronic signature and took care of her til the end of her life.
