Caregiver Job Description
Located in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range, Mountain Home Health Care, a non-profit Home Health and Hospice Agency has been providing services to Taos County, New Mexico since 1975. We began with a staff of two Registered Nurses and now employ over 130 Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Personal Duty Caregivers, Home Health Aides, Social Workers, Spiritual Counselors and Administrative Staff. We love our community very much and are thankful to be able to provide such needed services to those around us on a daily basis. We are currently recruiting for a full-time (32-40 hours per week) Private Duty Caregiver's. Duties may include: Light housekeeping Cooking Medication Management Assistance with grooming Running Errands Providing company and companionship Providing transportation to appointments Transferring the client from a chairs, toilet, bed, or vehicle. Qualifications include: Attention to detail and the ability to follow specific schedules or rules for multiple clients. Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and compassionately with sometimes difficult personalities. The position requires working in a very personal way with a clients who could sometimes be in pain or very fragile. The ideal candidate must be sensitive and compassionate to these needs. The ability to lift clients into the bathtub, cars and into bed, as needed. Time Management, and the ability to keep with a schedule to ensure appointments are met, medication is taken at the correct time, etc. Proven experience as a caregiver with favorable professional references. Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR). Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
