Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Job Description
Personal Care/Hygiene: Assist older persons with grooming, bathing, toileting, dressing and Transferring as needed. Health Promotion: Encourage positive health through exercise, activity participation and other prescribed activities for the care of the recipient. Home Management: Perform household tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, general cleaning, laundry, ironing and other tasks essential to maintaining elderly and disabled persons in their homes and enhancing their quality of life (for examples: watering plants or caring for a pet). Additionally, light housekeeping secrets that you will provide may include the following: Washing Dishes, Making beds, Cleaning counter tops and sinks, Straightening living area, Sweeping, Loading and unloading dishwashers, Cleaning bathrooms. . Meal Preparation & Feeding: Plan menus and prepare healthy and enjoyable meals as determined by the care recipient. Feed older persons and disabled individuals, if necessary. Transportation: Escort senior adults on errands, doctors' appointments, pharmacies, hairdressers, religious facilities or for grocery shipping and visiting a friend (or performing some of these tasks on behalf of the care recipient. Shopping: The arrangements for shopping may vary depending on each assignment. Before your first shopping trip, discuss with the care recipient and/or family member the approach that best suits their needs. Always save your receipts. Ambulating & Other: Assist care recipient in and out of bed, taking walks, sewing or mending doing home or personal projects and/or reading books. Measure and administer oral medicines to patients. Report any changes in patient's physical condition, check and record patient's temperature, pulse and respiration assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's), which includes bathing, dressing and continence. Accompany patient to and from medical appointments and other activities and perform other related duties as required. Meet with the Registered Nurse Supervisor every 30 days to review the care of the patient and to make recommendations to improve the quality of care for the patient.
