Your job is to provide residents with routine daily nursing care.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Know, follow and protect the Rights of Residents a. Ensure that each resident resides and receives services in the facility with reasonable accommodations of individual needs and preferences, except when the health or safety of the individual or other residents would be endangered. 2. Assist in the admissions, transfer and discharge process as instructed by the Charge Nurse. a. Prepare resident rooms to receive the resident b. Greet and escort residents to their room. Introduce residents to their roommate and other residents and personnel. c. Inventory and mark the resident's persona\ possessions and clothing if needed. 3. Provide information to the Charge Nurse about a resident's condition. a. Provide information the Charge Nurse regarding resident's functional capabilities. b. Promptly report changes in residents condition the Charge Nurse. 4. Follow Nursing Assistants assignments. a. Provide necessary resident care according to the resident's needs as indicated on the CNA Assignment sheet. b. Inform ADON of changes in resident care to update CNA Assignment sheets. 6. Provide necessary assistance to the dietary service of residents. a. Prepare resident for meals b. Serve resident's meal trays. Offer substitute if resident eats less than 50% and offer supplement if resident eats less than 50%. c. Complete the meal percentages book if assigned d. Inform charge nurse of changes in resident's eating habits. e. Pass nourishments for residents if ordered and assigned 9. Follows Universal Precautions at all times EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE 1. Must be a graduate of an approved Nursing Assistant Training Program 2. Prior experience as a CNA preferred 3. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. 4. Must possess the ability to deal effectively with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and general public unduly all conditions 5. Must be willing to follow directions 6. Must be dependable hi attendance and available by telephone and/or message phone number on reasonable notice. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Allow each resident to retain and use personal possessions including some furnishings and appropriate clothing as space permits, unless to do to would infringe upon the rights or health and safety of other residents. 2. Ensure that each resident is free from verbal, sexual, physical or mental abuse or involuntary seclusion. 3. Ensure that all suspected and know violations involving mistreatment, neglect or abuse including injuries of unknown are reported immediately to the Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing or Administrator. 4. Allow each resident to choose activities, schedule, and health care consistent with his/her interest, assessments and plans of care and make choices about aspects of his/her life in the facility that are significant to them. 5. Ensure that each resident is free from any physical restraint imposed for purpose of discipline or convenience, and not required to treat the resident's medical condition. 6. Ensure that each resident if fully informed in advance about care and treatment that may affect their well-being.
