Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Hospice Inpatient Nights

Hospice of the Golden Isles, located in Brunswick, GA, has a full-time opportunity for a C.N.A. for our premiere Hospice House Inpatient facility in Brunswick for night shifts. As Certified Nursing Assistant you'll provide personal care services to patients and performs related tasks. The CNA is responsible to the primary nurse for carrying out the duties assigned in order to increase the level of comfort, and to maintain personal hygiene and a safe environment for patients. The CNA is a member of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Assist patients with activities of daily living, provide personal care for patients, and provide light housekeeping duties as needed and directed in the hospice plan of care.  Provide emotional support to patients and families.  Observe for physical and emotional changes and report to primary nurse.  Survey and observe for safety issues and report to primary nurse.  Provide daily documentation of duties performed.  Perform any other duty assigned by the primary nurse.  Take and record pulse, respiration and temperature.  Report all complaints and grievances made by the patient to the Patient Care Administrator.  Treat all patients fairly, with kindness, dignity, and respect.  Relay patient related information efficiently and effectively to appropriate staff members.  Maintains up to date records using EMR system so problems, plans, actions and goals are accurately and clearly stated according to HGI policies, best practice, and regulatory requirements.  Successfully completes the annually required in-service as assigned.  Participates in the qualify assurance program as appropriate.  Attends regular staff meetings as scheduled.  Displays critical thinking skills to problem solve and manage patient and family issues according to Hospice and Standard of Practice and HGI policies and procedures.  Informs supervisor of unusual, problematic patient/family issues.  Participates in emergency disaster processes as defined by HGI policies.  Demonstrates familiarity with HGI policies/procedures and follows state and federal regulatory requirements.  Performs assignments as directed.  Participates in Interdisciplinary team meeting as able.  Assures timely review of all emails and voice messages and responds as required.  Maintains the confidentiality of all patients. Maintains a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating behavior and communicating in a professional manner suitable for interaction with customers, clients, co-workers and management. QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a current license/certificate to practice as a CNA in the State of Georgia. Must have a caring and helpful attitude and be highly motivated. Must maintain a current CPR certification. CNAs must possess a current Georgia Driver’s license and proof of insurance. Requires successful completion of a background check, MVR, and fingerprinting. Shifts are 12 hour shifts 7p-7a 3 days/weekly with self scheduling. Pay also includes shift premium for weekend and night shifts. Benefit eligibility is first of the month after 60-days of employment.
