Job description Silver City Hospice and Palliative Care is seeking a motivated Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to cover regional areas such as Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Riverside, and other surrounding areas providing direct patient care. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nurse Assistant attends to patient personal needs and assists with activities of daily living, according to the patient's Plan of Care. Silver City Hospice and Palliative Care believes that qualified CNA are advocates and health educators for patients, families and communities. CNA RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Assists patients with activities of daily living and personal needs, to include bathing, shampooing, shaving, light meals, back rubs, etc. Take patients vital signs and reports. Turns and positions the patient. Changes bed linens. Provides assistance with: ambulation, range of motion exercises, elimination needs, eating and medications that are patient administered. Practices normal safety precautions with all equipment and uses universal precautions for infection control. Communicate effectively and professionally within the team environment by demonstrating respectful and appropriate language and nonverbal behavior; actively seek to resolve customer and co-worker concerns in a timely manner. Demonstrate the ability to recognize, understand, and appreciate the value of cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Demonstrate social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to diverse patients, families, and staff. REQUIREMENTS Current CNA certification with a successful completion of a CNA program Minimum one (1) year of CNA experience required with home health or hospice experience preferred Current CPR certification Copy of updated Physical Copy of updated TB results/ Chest x-ray Reliable transportation Must have physical abilities to adequately perform described duties. Ability to learn and apply professional training, follow RN and physician’s orders, and produce accurate records of activities and services provided.
