Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Job Description: -Admit and discharge residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures. -Contribute to resident care plans and assist in implementation of those plans. -Take and record resident vital signs, heights, and weights. -Assist residents with daily activities such as oral hygiene, dressing and undressing, bathing and hygiene needs, skin care, and bowel and bladder needs. -Assist residents with transfers, positioning, and turning. -Assist in providing restorative care such as: Training the resident in self-care according to the resident’s abilities. Use of assistive devices in transferring, ambulation, eating, and dressing. Maintenance of range of motion. Proper turning and positioning in bed and chair. Bowel and bladder training. Bare and use of prosthetic and orthotic devices. -Assist residents in preparing for activities, religious services, physician visits, therapy appointments, tests and procedures, etc. -Ensure that the resident call light is within reach at all times and answers call lights promptly. -Accurately and thoroughly charts all required / requested information. -Assist the resident with laundry and bed linen needs. -Assist in caring and maintaining the resident’s room and environment. -Assist in resident group and individual activities. Requirements: -A State Certified Nurse Aide Certificate. -Completed High School diploma or GED/HSE Certificate. -Experience in long-term care or a related field is preferred. -Consent to and pass a pre-employment drug screen and required background checks.
