Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
Job Description:
-Obtain residents’ screening information and prepare them for physician examinations.
-Perform resident rounds and general nursing care for residents, administer prescribed medications and treatments, prepare equipment, and assist physicians during treatments, examinations, and testing as requested; observe, record, and report residents’ status, change in condition, reactions to drugs and treatments, and injuries.
-Educate and answer all questions from residents and families concerning the purpose, possible risks, and benefits of treatment procedures and/or medications.
-Maintain and reviews residents’ records, charts, and other pertinent information and post tests and examination results.
-Requisition and arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician, either within the facility or by outside arrangements.
-Obtain laboratory evaluations and communicate findings with residents, resident guardian, the physician and the Director of Nursing.
-Admit, transfer and discharge residents, including arranging transportation, packing, etc.
-Ensure an adequate stock level of medications, medical supplies, and equipment is maintained at all times.
Requirements:
-Active Indiana RN license.
-1-2 years experience, preferably in long-term care or related field.
-Consent to and pass a pre-employment drug screen and required background checks.
