Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
To provide each of the residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, necessary to meet the needs and comfort of the resident. • Give general personal care to residents including baths, toileting, hair grooming, oral hygiene and assist the resident in positioning, range of motion and dressing are required. • Take and record residents weight, temperature, intake and output and chart according to applicable facility, state and federal regulations. • Provide for the safety of the resident in use of side rails, mechanical lifts, gait belts, splints, and special braces, bed alarms, check door alarms etc, as instructed according to state applicable facility, state and federal regulations, and document on appropriate flow sheet. • Report to nurse in charge any changes in residents as to their skin conditions, injuries, appetite, emotional needs, falls, behaviors, weights, and toileting. • Attend and participate in team meetings and staff development programs and keep knowledge of geriatric care current. • Function in a professional, calm manner in emergency situations to include transporting residents. • Maintain and safeguard entrusted confidential information. • Support and be loyal to Meth-Wick and its mission statement. • Be flexible, receptive and adaptive to change. • Understand and apply basic principles of good housekeeping and safety. • Participate in good customer relations with appropriate, professional behavior and attire. • Attend team meetings and staff in-service programs and meetings. • Strict adherence to the attendance policy to include working additional hours when requested and makeup of weekend absences. • Perform all functions within the tenets of Meth-Wick’s Code of Conduct. • Report to supervisor any suspected breech of Corporate Compliance or HIPAA requirements. • Perform other related duties as assigned by the nurse in charge to include making beds, cleaning of wheelchairs, water pitcher maintenance, labeling of clothing and maintenance of common areas.
