CNA Needed ASAP

BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION: The purpose of the Certified Nurse Assistant position is provide assigned residents routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s care plan, and as may be directed by facility supervisors. EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: HOURLY, NON-EXEMPT PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Current certificate in California as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). 3. CPR certified. POSITION REQUIREMENTS 1. Must commit to the Mission and Core Values of the organization and promote facility in a positive manner. 2. Experience working as a CNA preferred. 3. Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing personal and bedside care. 4. Must adhere to and carry out all applicable policies and procedures of the organization 5. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. 6. Must possess legible handwriting and proficient typewriting skills 7. Must possess the ability to provide excellent customer service to residents, family members, visitors, facility employees, government agencies/personnel and the general public. 8. Must maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, personnel, and facility operations consistent with current regulations and acceptable standards of practice. REPORTS TO: Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintains charts and documentation for all residents. 2. Prepares resident rooms prior to receiving the resident in the facility. 3. Greets new residents and orients them to their room, and ensures they are comfortable. 4. Transports residents as needed. 5. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, positive emphasis and calmness. 6. Participates in and receives daily nursing reports. 7. Assists residents with basic needs, including, but not limited to oral care, bathing, toileting, dressing/undressing, hair care, nail care, shaving, bowel and bladder functions. 8. Changes bed linens, makes beds and provides extra blankets if necessary. 9. Repositions bedfast residents as needed and at least every 2 hours. 10. Maintains intake and output records as required. 11. Collects specimens (i.e, urine, sputum, stools, etc.) as instructed. 12. Assists residents in preparing for medical tests, activities and social programs, appointments and daily meals. 13. Assists with lifting, turning, moving, positioning and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc. using proper body mechanics. 14. Measures and records temperatures, pulse and other vital signs as required. 15. Answers call lights promptly. 16. Assists with the care of the dying patient; provides post-mortem care as instructed. 17. Observes and reports the presence of pressure areas, skin breakdowns, skin tears and all injuries of an unknown source. 18. Provides daily indwelling catheter care. 19. Provides daily Range of Motion exercises and records data. 20. Serves food trays and snacks in resident rooms, if indicated, and assists with feeding if necessary. 21. Performs routine housekeeping and basic maintenance duties. 22. Informs Charge Nurse of changes in the resident’s condition. 23. Other duties and responsibilities related as assigned by Charge Nurse or Director of Nurses.
