Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
What’s In It For You: Bonus: -$750 Sign-on bonus for CNA’s -Must maintain at least 0.2 FTE (8 hours per week) Paid Training & Certification: -CNA course provided at no cost (training fees covered, but training is unpaid) -Cares Dementia Certification paid training provided -Community-Based Residential Facility (CBRF) Certification paid training provided Extra Cash: -Earn shift differentials from $0.50 to $3.00 per hour depending on shift -Earn additional pay incentives up to $5/hour for picking up additional, non-scheduled shifts ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be required and assigned. -Provides personal hygiene including bathing (tub, shower, bed bath), oral care, skin and nail care and hand washing. -Completes resident grooming including hair care, shaving, dressing and weighing. Encourages residents/tenants toward independent personal care. -Assists with toileting including bowel and bladder retraining and perinea care. -Performs and assists with mobility, transferring, ambulation, positioning and range of motion per the care plan. -Assists in orienting residents/tenants upon admission and throughout stay as needed. -Documents accurately all care given, including dietary intake and output, temperature, weight, blood pressure pulse and respiration, using approved abbreviations and descriptive terms. -Reports to nurse on units for written and verbal assignments which include daily use of care plans for assigned residents/tenants before initiating care. -Participates in the planning of resident care through shift reports and resident care staffing meetings when assigned. -Informs verbally and/or submit in writing any observations and changes in a resident for the licensed nurse to evaluate including dietary intake. -Serves residents/tenants their meals; motivates and assists them with intake of nourishment and fluids. -Answer all call signals and requests of residents/tenants immediately. -Encourages/assist residents/tenants in keeping their rooms clean and orderly; assists with making beds. -Maintains nursing unit in a clean and orderly manner. -Keeps all residents/tenants’ personal belongings and equipment clean. -Escorts residents/tenants to appointments and/or therapy departments as scheduled. -Participates in unit activity programs planned for residents/tenants as needed. -Attends and participates in unit nursing staff meetings and mandatory in-services. -Performs a total inventory of all resident’s possessions on admission, discharge or transfer. -Ensures all residents/tenants’ possessions are properly labeled. -Responds to resident emergency including bleeding, falls, seizures and performance of Heimlich maneuver. -Assists with post-mortem care as assigned. -Transports dietary carts and linen carts. -Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Certified Nursing Assistant -Age 16 or older. -Wisconsin certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant and on state registry. CNA training courses available through St. Croix County. -Completion of CBRF training, fire safety, first aide, and medication management program within 90 days of hire. -Must successfully pass criminal and caregiver background check. Certified Nursing Assistant – Dementia Care -Age 16 or older. -Wisconsin certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant and on state registry. -Completion of CBRF training, fire safety, first aide, and medication management program within 90 days of hire. -Cares Dementia Training Certification within 90 days of hire. -Must successfully pass criminal and caregiver background check. Expected Wage Range CNA: $19.25 - 21.78/hour Dementia CNA: $20.22 - 22.87/hour Department: Health Care Campus FTE: Various on-call, part-time, and full-time opportunities
