JOB SUMMARY FOR CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT:
We are currently seeking the professional skills of a CNA. This position will be responsible for assisting residents with activities for daily living. This position does require IDPH CNA certification. To provide the best resident care, experience in a geriatric setting is preferred with the demonstrated ability to work effectively with residents and personnel of all backgrounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Certified Nursing Assistant
Ambulate and transfer residents utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics
Routinely turn and position residents
Immediately answer the call light of each resident
Make beds and change linens per facility policy
Measure and record residents’ heights and weights
Take residents temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
Care for incontinent residents
Collect sputum, urine, and stool specimens
Observe and document food and fluid intake of residents
Pass out trays and feed/assist residents as needed
Always keep assigned resident bedside area clean and personal belongings in orderly arrangement
Observe and report any changes in the condition of residents
Spends quality time with residents when downtown occurs.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Nursing Home Administrator
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT – CNA:
Current CNA certification in Illinois
Active and eligible on the Healthcare Registry
Must have reliable transportation to work
Ability to work independently and as a team
Maintain an empathetic attitude
Possess effective communication skills to properly speak to resident who may be cognitively impaired.
