Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding to promote their comfort and hygiene.
Mobility Assistance: Help patients with mobility, including transferring them between beds and wheelchairs, and assist with ambulation and range of motion exercises.
Housekeeping Duties: Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning patient areas and ensuring supplies are stocked.
Documentation: Accurately document care provided and any changes in patients' conditions, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Communication: Collaborate with nursing staff and communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide updates on care and address any concerns.
Qualifications:
Certification: Must be a certified nursing assistant in North Carolina, having completed a state-approved training program and passed the competency exam.
Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to follow instructions, and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential.
Physical Requirements: The role may require lifting and moving patients, so physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, and bending are necessary.
Work Environment
CNAs typically work shifts that include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the agency's needs.
Must have the following:
• Valid Driver’s License
• Social Security Card
• Current CPR Certification
• Recent Tuberculosis (TB Skin Test)
Compensation
Pay rates are determined by position, experience, and payor source (e.g., Medicaid, private pay, or insurance reimbursement).
Final compensation is based on experience, credentials, and service reimbursement rates.
