Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including hospice care, nursing homes, and outpatient services. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly in geriatrics and acute care environments. Responsibilities: -Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. -Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including lifting when necessary. -Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance client well-being. -Administer basic healthcare tasks as directed, including monitoring vital signs and managing durable medical equipment (DME). -Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed. -Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients. -Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional. -Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Requirements: -Previous experience in personal care or related fields such as hospice care, emergency medicine, or nursing home settings is preferred. -Familiarity with outpatient services and geriatrics is a plus. -Ability to lift and assist clients safely while adhering to proper techniques. -Experience working with children is considered an asset. -Knowledge of durable medical equipment (DME) and healthcare systems is beneficial. -Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. -Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others. -Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
