The Hickman is a personal care home providing services to seniors in the Quaker traditions of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship. There is nothing more meaningful than compassionately caring for our senior residents. The Hickman Friends Senior Community of West Chester, PA is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA'S) and Med Tech to become a part of our community’s compassionate care-giving team. The CNA will interact directly with our residents, families, outside agencies, and interdepartmental staff members. We are searching for a dedicated, compassionate, and energetic CNA to be a vital link for our residents to support their continued engagement in the community they love! At The Hickman, our CNA is responsible for providing the highest degree of care to our residents in personal care. The CNA duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Build meaningful relationships with our residents and families as you provide assistance with activities of daily living, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, incontinent care, toileting, ambulation, or other needs in keeping with the individuals’ care requirement(s). Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Observe residents for changes in condition or behavior and promptly report these changes to Director of Resident Care . Assist in maintaining a safe, neat, and clean environment. Assist and escort residents to meals and activities. Participate in activities and functions as directed. Perform various tasks assigned by the charge nurse including vital signs, residents’ weight, collecting specimens, etc. Answer residents’ call bells promptly and courteously. Adhere to professional standards, policies, and procedures. Excellent Organizational, written, and oral communication skills. Qualifications of the CNA: Related Experience : Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior living community is required. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Licenses and Certifications: The CNA must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of the state of Pennsylvania. For consideration of employment CNA candidates must have reliable transportation, successfully pass a background check and drug screen. Availability to work evening shift, alternating weekends, and holidays.
