Home Care Aide (HCA) Job Description
1. Education and Requirements a. High School graduate preferred. b. CPR Card from any certified program. 2. Experience a. Minimum one year experience. 3. Duties & Responsibilities a. Performing procedures for which the Aide’s training has provided the necessary skills. b. Inform Clinical Director or Clinical Supervisor of changes in client’s conditions. c. Document care given, observations and treatments. d. Comply with policies and procedures. e. work in a patients home with dignity and respect. f. Provide personal care to include: 1. Oral care including dentures. 2. Assistance with personal hygiene. 3. Skin care including foot care and back-rubs. 4. Bathing (shower, tub, bed or sponge). 5. A.M. and P.M. care. 6. Feeding. 7. Turning & positioning. g. Assisting with other ADL's h. Assisting clients with ambulation with/without assistant devices i. Make bed (occupied and unoccupied). j. Offering bed pans and urinals. m. Taking and recording BP, temperature, pulse and respiration. n. Maintaining clean and safe environment for clients.
