PC Job Summary Position Summary: Provides personal care services to participants who are authorized for in home care services through Developmental Disabilities, Medicaid Personal Care, COPES, Respite or Private Pay. Position requires that the CARES assessment goals for each individual are carried out. Essential Functions: Must be able to help with compliance and program development. Must have good communication and phone skills including follow through on important messages and incidents. Must be able to provide direct personal care services, as listed in individual care plans, not to include those services requiring the specialized training of a nurse. For specific expectations for your job please read and sign policy 5037 Caregiver Expectations form as an addendum to this job description. Must be dependable and ethical in work performance. Communicate with community members, staff, and participants with tact, consideration, and sensitivity. Must be able to manage time and meet time- lines. Actively participate in staff meetings, progress reviews, and staff training opportunities. Must be able to do accurate data entry, report writing, reporting to APS and or supervisors in a timely manner and according to policies and contract requirements. Must be able to cooperate with nurse delegation rules and responsibilities. Must be able and willing to take care of the physical and mental well being of each individual with specific attention to hygiene and safety. Must be able to provide communication and social interaction to enhance the learning, social, and emotional environment. Must be able to understand and implement the protocol for emergency response to any accident or injury during the shift. COMMUNICATION: 1. Staff must communicate appropriately with the Supervisor, Office Manager, and Executive Director. 2. Request or suggest constructive criticism regarding job performance as part of the ongoing professional learning process. 3. Is aware of own limits and seeks appropriate resources. 4. Completes tasks or assignments as required. 5. Adheres to board policies and contract requirements. 6. Maintains confidentiality according to policy. 7. Understands that the client is the boss in their home within the rules of the program. Working Conditions: Stressors may include busy, flexible schedule daily that includes multi-tasking, client mood changes, challenging behaviors, and hygiene issues in the client’s home. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Experience and or training in Positive Behavior Support Must be able to work independently Special Requirements: Must be able to pass a background clearance and TB test. Must be able to have a valid driver’s license and Washington State insurance. Training: We will train you and pay you to be trained. CPR/First Aid is not required but is available at no cost to you. Basic Training is a 70 hour class and a 5 hour safety/orientation. These requirements must be completed within 200 days of hire.
