Home Care Aide (HCA) Job Description
The nature of the job requires the CNA/Home Care Aide to assist dependent adults with tasks of daily living, such as planning and meal preparation, medication and appointment reminders, light housekeeping, providing companionship for the client, accompany to appointments, assisting with grocery shopping, and running errands as needed. To qualify, the applicant must have a minimum of one (1) year related work experience (i.e., serving as an in-home caregiver or working in a licensed adult residential home or care facility for the elderly), possess appropriate written, verbal and inter-personal communication skills; be able to proficiently read, write, understand, and communicate using the English language; knowledge of principles of nutrition, food preparation and storage and menu planning, housekeeping and sanitation principles, provision of client care and supervision, must have a valid driver’s license in good standing, and current CPR and Adult First Aid Certifications is preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. As a condition of employment, you may be required to submit to a criminal background check, drug and TB test.
