Home Care Aide (HCA) Job Description
The Home Care Aide enables the client to remain in the home, free from injury or harm. The Home Care Aide provides services and companionship sufficient to provide a secure and orderly living environment. The Home Care Aide is responsible for observing the client and reporting changes to the Care Coordinator/Supervisor. 1. Provides non-medical services to the client. 2. Provides generalized attention to the needs of the ill, injured, impaired, disabled or aged. 3. Observes the client for general physical, mental, and emotional conditions. 4. Ensures the provision of a clean, safe environment for the client at all times. 5. Provides a sense of security for the client and protects the client from any harm resultant from the debilitating effects of his/her illness. 6. Prepares and serves the client's meals. 7. Do light housekeeping. 8. Accompany the client to his/her appointments (doctor, dentist, salon, etc.) 9. Provide continuous companionship for the client. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Has experience in caregiving for the elderly, disabled or infirmed. 2. Must have a safe and reliable means of transportation with license and insurance. 3. Can speak English and Spanish REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: 1. Driver license or Photo ID 2. Social Security Card 3. Caregiver registration 4.
