Home Care Aide (HCA) Job Description
Care Art Homecare is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Caregivers/Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide quality care and support to seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. The ideal candidate will assist clients with daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
-Provide companionship and emotional support.
-Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping.
-Accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and recreational outings.
-Support clients with community integration and independent living skills.
-Monitor and report changes in client condition or behavior.
-Follow individualized care plans and agency policies.
-Maintain accurate documentation and service notes.
-Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients.
-Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
-Must be at least 18 years of age.
-High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
-Previous caregiving, DSP, CNA, or home care experience preferred but not required.
-Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation preferred.
-Ability to pass background screening and Home Care Aide requirements.
-CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
