You will deliver Adaptive Living Services to our clients teaching the skills around money management, menu planning, shopping, laundry, personal grooming and care and facilitate many opportunities for our clients to grow in socialization skills. Job purpose Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Manager Residential Services, implements Adaptive Skills as indicated by clients’ Individual Program Plan in group or individual settings. Providing assistance and coaching in daily living tasks, personal care and support, and ensuring the personal safety and welfare of developmentally disabled adults in a residential setting while serving as a role model; ultimately facilitating the improvement of interpersonal and emotional functioning of clients by assisting them to live safe, productive and fulfilling lives in their homes and community. Duties and responsibilities Implement Adaptive Skills individual program plans to support clients and families of adults with developmental disabilities. • Provide adaptive skills training and support primarily during morning and evening time periods that augments clients’ social, recreational, daily living skills and community integration as indicated on clients’ Individual Program Plan • COVID-19 specific: assist clients with online classes • Writes client progress notes and contributes to management reports • Observe, analyze and use judgment to identify what is needed • Maintain a safe environment • Maintain appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with clients, families and staff • Utilize appropriate techniques when managing difficult behaviors • Maintain sensitivity and HIPAA compliant confidentiality of clients’, families’, co-workers, business and administrative information • Organize and facilitate social emotional group sessions with developmentally disabled adults • Contribute to a positive team-oriented environment with fellow staff members • Attendance at all staff meetings and in-service trainings is required • Other duties as assigned Delivery of remote services • Conduct virtual (online) classes with up to 5 clients • Provide support (telephone, online platforms) to clients and families • Develop online classes to provide engaging activities for clients Qualifications Minimum Qualifications • High School diploma or equivalent • Relevant experience (including volunteer) with children or adults • Computer literacy (Word, send and receive emails) • Experience in regular household management, food purchase, meal planning and preparation, first aid, and home maintenance • Maintain emotional control under stress • Must pass criminal background check • Must test clear of TB, either by negative skin test or further testing if skin test is positive • Must provide documentation of COVID-19 vaccination • Scheduling flexibility regarding time of day and day of week • The ideal candidate is talented, experienced, energetic, passionate and creative. • Valid CA Driver’s License & good driving record.
