Home Care Aide (HCA) Job Description

Requirements: - Experience with Developmental or Intellectual Disabilities - 2 forms of I-9 Compliant ID's Driver's License, State ID, Passport, Social Security Card, etc. - Negative tuberculosis test (within 2 years) or Clear Chest X-ray (within 5 years) - Compliance with background check protocols We Care For You! - Competitive pay - Flexible scheduling to fit your lifestyle - Full Time & Part Time work available - Supportive staff and management to help you achieve your career goals - Paid overtime (hourly and/or weekly) and mileage Major Responsibilities: - Provide excellent care and support to children with special needs (e.g. autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome), in their homes - Interact and communicate with office staff and parents in a professional manner - Practice a can-do, results matter attitude in line with the College Nannies + Sitters core values - Engaging in playtime and fun home learning activities - Participate in required ongoing training and development activities and events - Pay close attention to details/follow instructions - Use technology (mobile app) to maintain an always accurate schedule and enter timesheets - Arrive at and from an assigned shift on time and properly document all shifts worked - Appropriately report any changes to the client’s mental/physical health or home environment immediately - Comply with rules and regulations pertaining to client health information, specifically - HIPAA policies and procedures - Promote positive, supportive, and respectful communication to client/family and 24Hr HomeCare staff Qualifications: - Minimum of 1 year of child-related experience (youth groups, camp counselor, after school aid, babysitter, nanny, teacher, classroom aid, or similar) - Previous experience with special needs a PLUS (but not required) - Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification a PLUS - High School diploma or equivalent - Reliable, punctual, patient, kind, and a great communicator - Access to a reliable car for commuting to families' homes - Able and willing to undergo a background check - Eligible to work in the US - Able to lift 15-30lbs Call (858) 247-1005 or Apply now for an immediate interview.
