Home Care Aide (HCA) Job Description
1. Patient Care: - Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. - Help patients with mobility and transfer, including using wheelchairs, walkers, and other assistive devices. - Feed patients or assist with feeding as needed. - Ensure patients' rooms are clean and organized. 2. Vital Signs Monitoring: - Measure and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. - Report any significant changes in patients' conditions to the nursing staff. 3. Patient Comfort and Safety: - Ensure patient comfort by repositioning bedridden patients and providing skin care to prevent bedsores. - Assist in the prevention of falls by ensuring a safe environment. - Provide companionship and emotional support to patients. 4. Documentation and Communication: - Accurately document patient care activities and observations in medical records. - Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff/team 5. Infection Control: - Follow infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment. - Practice proper hand hygiene and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. .
