Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
Job Summary: Responsible to oversee the operation of the nutrition site with respect to meals. Completing records and reports, overseeing non-meal site operations and to assure compliance with all federal, state and local policies.. Qualifications: High School Diploma One or more years of experience in working with adults in a health care or social service setting. Supervisory experience a plus Ability to accurately complete daily, weekly & monthly reports Responsibilities: To work directly with the Atlantic County Nutrition Project Manager and the CARING, Inc. ALP Regional Director to accomplish the responsibilities of the position. To supervise volunteers who assist in serving and clean up. Complete volunteer list and attendance Maintain a daily reservation sheet & order meals accordingly. Oversee the kitchen Check food temperatures and record as stated in policy manual. Responsible to oversee the proper handling of food according to policy. Complete food checklist daily. Responsible for home delivery of meals for those eligible Responsible to assure kitchen is cleaned, countertops and tables wiped down. Making sure equipment and storage closets are locked Keep records and reports concerning meal distribution Maintain and complete current participation information cards Keep daily participants sign in sheets Deposit donations daily & complete deposit & money sheets Keep daily meal count Oversee non-meal site operations Provide at least 1 non meal activity per day Interact and maintain positive relationships with participants Facilitate socialization among participants Conspicuously post the current monthly calendar of events. Invite and/or remind participants to participate in planned activities. Promote activities in a way that piques participants' interest. Monitor maintenance and submit maintenance sheets. Responsible to ensure that non county funded employees adhere to all county & nutrition site policies. In the event of an incident, an incident report is to be completed and returned to the Nutrition Project Manager & Regional Director. Responsible to work together with the Site Council in a partnership to enhance the site. Insure that the site meets all federal, state and local policies Receive a satisfactory rating on the annual AAA monitoring Receive a satisfactory rating on the health inspection in those areas directly under the site manager's purview Refer to and follow the Site Profile for detailed responsibilities Adhere to and carry out all Atlantic County Senior Center policies as described in the policy manual. Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to participants, facility operations and personnel. Carry out other duties as assigned by project manager and/or site administrator to ensure smooth operation of the facility and to meet participants' needs.
