Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
1. Assists with activities of daily living, personal care, and any other assignments included in the service plan. 2. Observes and maintains home environment to ensure safety and security of the client; 3. Assists with household chores including cooking, meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry; 4. Assists in completing activities such as shopping and appointments outside the home; 5. Provides companionship including, but not limited to, social interaction, conversation, emotional reassurance, encouragement of reading, writing, and mind stimulating activities; 6. Assists with activities of daily living, personal care, and any other assignments included in the service plan. 7. Performs or assists the client with personal hygiene, including bathing, hair care, mouth care, and dressing, when skilled skincare, skilled transfer or skilled dressing is not required.
